With Fabio living in London, traveling became more like a must to me than an option. Don't get me wrong, I have no complaint. This period just made me a bit more practical about packing and backpacking. I have to be honest, London weather and the latest Siberian cold did not help to minimize my bag, but I decided to dig in my bag as I was packing for this post:
Clothes: While traveling I feel more comfortable wearing leggings and dresses in winter and in summer - so it gets even easier to pack a change. Then, I have a pair of pajamas in my closet that is always ready for the next travel. Since I mostly travel with a backpack, I use IKEA travel cubes to pack all the clothes so I keep my clothes clean and my backpack tidy.
Kindle: Hi, I am Mine and I am a book warm. Literally. I read more than 50 books a year and I can read this much because I travel a lot and I always read with my kindle in the airport and in the flight. It is the best on board entertainment, and the only one for short flights.
Snacks: Taking a plane makes me excited and hungry! Also waking up at weird times or getting tired with the overall journey make me tired or drop my blood sugar. Packing some cookies or breakfast for the plane saves my health and my budget.

Document Bag: This is one of the best investments I have ever made! Since I am a non-European citizen, wherever I go I need to bring a bunch of documents with me at all times. So, this tiny little bag helps me to tidy up my bag, to ensure I have all my documents ready with me and not to lose things on the way. As I mostly need a visa-check because of the Ryanair policy, I carry the print out tickets inside. Then, I always have a pen, my passport, and my permit of stay with me. Then, I attach also my "to-see" list on top of it, next to my pen.
Camera Bag: I also have a professional Canon camera with a couple of lens equipments, but I do not always feel like carrying it. Especially in London, where it always rains and it is not very comfortable to use it. But, I always carry my Polaroid camera to save memories on our "world" map. It is cute, practical and really compact. I ensure that I have enough papers before to leave home.
Makeup Bag: I have an acne-prone skin, so even if I don't like too much make-up, I always feel like I need some corrections on my skin. I carry a primer and a bb cream that is enough for my boost. Then, I carry a primer mascara, a mascara, an eyeliner and a travel eye shadow to use in case I am in the mood. I love my matte lipstick for travel for its long lasting property. I also like to carry with me the neutrogena acne cream for emergencies.
Liquid Bag: The make-up bag requires the cleaning bag. I ALWAYS carry my micellar water to clean my skin and a tonic to balance the pours. I have these travel bottles so I keep filling from my Garnier micellar water and Loreal tonic to keep my daily routine on track. Then, I have my moisturizer, which I share with Fabio occasionally . I use a travel size roll-on even though I don't carry a cologne with me. Since these are my travel items, I have them ready to go in a plastic bag at all times.
Essentials: Then, I also have the basics I have in my purse daily. These are my wallet and my portable bag, in which I have a power bank, a lip balm, a hand cream, earphones, some pills and a portable mirror.
Having separate bags that are always ready for travel helps me to pack and organize my bag. Then, I do not really need big check lists in the end because I can divide my belongings based on the categories so I do not face any chaos in the end. Do you have any must have items for your trips?
