Sooo, it's official, we just bought some tickets for a long weekend in Paris to celebrate our first anniversary and my PhD! Even buying the tickets made me super excited and happy and did I mention excited already? I started making some research about what to do sooo here is my to go list so far:
1. Eiffel Tower: Shocking, right? I actually booked our hotel really close to the tower so that we can enjoy the view during the day and the night with no extra effort. But since it is our first time in Paris, we want to take our time to climb up the tower and enjoy the view.
2. Notre Dame: I wasn't raised as a Christian, and maybe that's why the church culture and all the glorious decorations get me even more. I cannot wait to get into this Gothic masterpiece and get tons of photos.
3. Louvre: Let me give you a secret, I don't get paintings. I just don't understand them, I don't know many classical artists, I don't know how to interpret them and I don't get excited with the whole thing. But I try my best and Louvre might be interesting for me since it brings amazing classics and amazing architecture.
4. Dome of Sacre Coeur Basilica: This church seems to be a good spot with an amazing view and a meeting point for many people. It could be nice to change our walking route to pass through it.
5. Champs-Elysees: A funny story, I have no idea what this word means every time until i say it out loud in my mind, then it reminds me how it's called in Turkish and I say "yeeeeah, right! I wanna go there!" This street seems to be what makes Paris like Paris. Not only walking through it, but getting lost around it might be fun.
6. Montrmarte Region: I'm not a Bohemian chick but I always fancy Bohemian style more than chick style so this is where to get lost for me! Prepare for the Instagram likes :))
7. Terrace views: Going to Eiffel tower will definitely give us an amazing view, but we need to find more places to get some panaromic views with the tower in it. I found online some free terrace suggestions to enjoy the view for free or some museums, towers, domes to pay a small fee to climb up. I don't know how we will feel about these things, but it's gonna be a fun request to check all these places!
Stay tuned!
