The other day I came across with a list of 50 Most Beautiful Cities in the World, which helped me to build a bucket list for the following years. Mostly, we travel in Europe during the weekends (hence the blog name) so let's focus on my dream weekend getaways:
London: Besides the classic attractions such as Big Ben, Madame Tussauds, London Eye or the clock tower, I am quiet excited just to walk around the streets, visit the bookshops and enjoy loots of beer.

Marrakesh: Even though the list contains the town Chefchaouen, my real dream would be to go to Marrakesh and have a daily trip there. I imagine Marrakesh would be a perfect (and safe) getaway far away from the modern European culture to something more oriental. Considering that there are low-cost direct flights there, it would be a magical weekend to go there to experience the oriental bath, amazing architecture and street market.

Paris: I feel ashamed that we still didn't find the opportunity to visit Paris so far! We kept considering the Paris option with Fabio but every time we start to discuss the details, the to-do list goes on and on, which leads us to change the weekend plans because we feel desperate to choose over the list. To me, visiting Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee D'orsay, Versailles, sightseeing around the city and going to the Disneyland would not fit on a single weekend. We just cannot decide which ones to do first and which ones to leave for a second trip to Paris but still. we agree that Paris is a definitely must see destination!

Amsterdam: Besides the fact that I am really completely curious about the Red Light District, Amsterdam seems to be an amazing gem for street photography considering the Dutch architecture and the amazing canals. Another reason to go to Amsterdam seems to be its coffee shops. not only for the coffee but also try some special brownies.
Lisbon: Personally, I get emotional when it comes to Lisbon because I heard that Lisbon is just like Istanbul countless times! The similarities between two cities can be listed as the bridge, architecture, hillside streets, the tram, the "other side" (well, let's face it Istanbul wins for this!), the colors and the boats. After all these rumors, I just have to see it myself!
Dubrovnik: I keep hearing about the crystal clear seaside, the golden beach and the medieval city centre of Dubrovnik since 2008 and I still keep it on my bucket list. Luckily, the city became even cooler than before thanks to Game of Thrones and I can convince Fabio easier just promising a "shame walk" within the city. That sounds cool!
Hamburg: We have visited various cities in Germany already but we can go again just to catch up with this German gem. The canal view seems close to Amsterdam but not that close. Furthermore, since I love the German christmas markets, my future plan is to arrange a weekend trip to Hamburg in December. Well, I feel cold already. Can I get some mulled wine in advance?
Even though all these previous trip dreams can be done in a weekend (or a long weekend let's say) we also have further overseas travel dreams.
New York: I love city life and I love even more the big cities. Visiting New York is my dream since, well, I don't even remember since when! But I cannot wait to catch the subway, having a lunch in the China Town, climbing up the Empire State building, crossing the Brooklyn bridge and visiting the MET museum. And definitely have a brunch!

Kyoto: Travel is obviously not only taking a flight and checking in new cities, but mostly discovering other cultures. Recently I finished reading the book "the memoirs of a geysha" so I am all about the Japanese culture! Going there to purchase a real kimono, visit the temples, experience a tea ceremony and eat more and more sushi everyday is our latest dream!

Stockholm: The official list actually contains only Stockholm, but our plan is mostly to attend a cruise covering all Scandinavian countries and the Nordic sea. Moreover doing all these travels in the boat might put us in a mood to act like "Vikings" and "raid Scandinavia"!

Where should we start?Labels: Bucket List
